Village Manager's Office
Bryan L. White is the Village Manager for the Village of Fairport, New York. Bryan was appointed Village Manager in May 2014. Prior to his appointment, Bryan held similar positions in O’Fallon, IL, Watertown, NY and Canandaigua, NY. Bryan is an International City/County Management Association Credentialed Manager (ICMA-CM) and brings 18 plus years of experience and service to this organization.
The Village Manager is responsible for the day-to-day management of all Village operations and provides support services to the Village Board. The Village Board appoints the Village Manager who is responsible for the implementation of policies established by the Board and the general administration of Village operations.
The goals of the Village Manager’s Office are to provide leadership and supervise the activities of the Village, provide staff and administrative services for operating departments, maintain the financial affairs of the Village, manage municipal resources for the provision of public services, and present plans and reports to the Village Board as necessary to meet the Village goals and objectives.
The Village Manager carries out policy decisions of the Village Board. The Village Manager takes part in all discussions which come before the Village Board but acts in a nonvoting advisory capacity.
In addition to the coordination and supervision of operating departments, the Village Manager’s Office is responsible for providing administrative staff services including labor relations, personnel, insurance, budgeting, financial analysis, grants management and intergovernmental relations.
The Village Manager’s Office provides support services to various Board committees and prepares agendas for Board meetings. The Village Manager abides by the Code of Ethics of the International City-County Management Association (ICMA).
