A Message from the Station Manager

Thanks for taking a few moments to visit our Public Access Television site!  Fairport Area Community Television has served the Village of Fairport and Town of Perinton since 1980, and stands as one of the oldest Public Access Television Stations in the United States.  Today, we are continuing the tradition of providing the best in Public Access, Educational, and Government programming.

We are proud of the fact that we’ve become a respected leader in implementing new technology among other local access stations.  FACT was the first area facility to begin providing programming using digital server technology.  Other stations in the market later approached us for advice and guidance with this technology.  Several have now implemented this system as a direct result of what they learned from us.  Today, we are continuing our build out of equipment as High Definition Television is becoming the standard in the industry.

However, all of this technology is only as good as the staff to make it happen.  We have a small staff, but they are very dedicated to the advancement of this facility, and serving the needs of our viewers.  We hope to soon provide video streaming of our channels as well as video on demand.  These are important advancements in the industry as more and more people are demanding real time access to information that is important to them.

If you would like to join us, we are always looking for community volunteers who have an interest in broadcasting.  Experienced or not, we can provide you the training necessary to help us accomplish our important mission, and your personal goals.  To join our team, please feel free to contact me directly.

Finally, if you have any suggestions about our programming, please feel free to let us know.  We’re always open to new show ideas, especially as they relate to the community.  FACT Television, YOUR Stations, YOUR Views!  Thanks for Watching!

                         Paul Kolacki, Station manager
